The Explorer

Regular price £995.00

This board is the answer to the question 'What board do I bring on this trip?'. It's built to be surfed, and to last years, featuring incredibly durable cork rails, FCS II or Futures fin boxes in a quad setup, and an EcoPro cork traction pad that beautifully compliments the rails.

The Explorer was designed with feedback from UK surfers around the waves we have here in Devon, so it's made to be as versatile as possible. If you're checking out a new spot, or you just want something that'll go great in a variety of waves, this is the board for you.

The outline is a modern 'all-rounder' type shape, designed to get you into more waves for less effort. With a flat bottom it goes beautifully in knee to chest-high surf, or for bigger, hollower surf the double concave tail will take fast turns with more drive. Surf this board a touch shorter than your regular shortboard on the smaller days when you want to make the most of what the British coastline has on offer.

Like all Lyster boards this design is built with our patent-pending internal wood structure, meaning that for a wooden surfboard it's incredibly lightweight, coming in at around 4-4.5kg depending on the length.

The EcoPro cork tailpad is included in the price along with the stainless steel Gore vent, but you'll need your own fins, leash and board bag.

Shipping within the UK is included in the price, if you live outside the UK please contact us before placing your order.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions!

All boards are made to order so delivery will be around a month from payment.

"I was lucky enough to take one of Duncan's boards for a surf at a dreamy session on a perfect Cornish sandbank. The board surfed amazingly, paddling like butter and catching everything. Somehow Duncan has learned to create a surfboard that genuinely performs fantastically, whilst trumping the aesthetics of any board on the market. A true masterpiece of craftsmanship."
